This Sunday, March 29, 2026, the city in Baix Llobregat will host a new edition of the Carxofada, a popular event that culminates a month dedicated to the artichoke. The day-long celebration, held in the Plaça de l'Ajuntament and Rambla de Rafael Casanova, will offer culinary proposals and activities for all ages.
One of the most anticipated moments will be the presentation of the Carxofa d'Or to chef and gastronomic popularizer Marc Ribas, host of TV3's program Joc de Cartes. The recognition, scheduled around 11:00 AM, highlights the media exposure Ribas has given to the artichoke as a star product of local gastronomy.
The central event of the Carxofada will be the traditional tasting lunch, prepared by restaurants from the Degusta Sant Boi collective using artichokes grown by the Cooperativa Agrària Santboiana. 1,700 meals have been prepared with over 2,200 kilograms of artichokes, with tickets already sold out. The menu, featuring dishes like artichoke croquettes, grilled artichoke, or artichoke and cuttlefish fideuá, will be served in four shifts between 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM.
The program will be complemented by 'showcookings' by Sant Boi chef Toni Romero and Valentina Salazar, winner of MasterChef Junior 2025, children's workshops, the traditional Trobada de puntaires (lace makers' gathering), and a musical closing with DJ Alex Gruess. The Cooperativa Agrària Santboiana will also offer local products, and Ràdio Sant Boi will broadcast a special live program.
This edition of the Carxofada concludes an Artichoke Month with record participation in the CarxoTapa and CarxoMenú routes, involving 38 establishments. The City Council emphasizes the festival's external appeal, as one in three attendees at the 2025 Carxofada came from other localities.
