The Minister of Economy and Finance, Alícia Romero, met yesterday in Sant Feliu with Mayor Lourdes Borrell and council members to address investments in health, education, urban planning, and transport.

The meeting, held after signing the Book of Honor, focused on strategic projects such as the extension of the Trambaix tram line, the construction of the future CUAP (Urgency and Primary Care Center), increasing vocational training offerings, and the new urban centrality. It was assured that these projects are already underway and are being coordinated between the City Council and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Minister Romero highlighted the Government of Catalonia's investment in local projects through the Unique Plan of Works and Services of Catalonia (PUOSC), endowed with 500 million euros. "We will promote a second Neighborhood Plan and, in Sant Feliu, we are investing in the CUAP, the TramBaix extension, the Palace of Justice...", she stated, emphasizing the Generalitat's close involvement in these urban transformation projects.
Mayor Borrell underscored the importance of the future Urgency and Primary Care Center (CUAP), which will arise from the new urban centrality resulting from the burial of the train tracks. This facility will provide health coverage for up to 150,000 people from Sant Feliu and surrounding municipalities.
Regarding the extension of the Trambaix, it will be integrated into the space freed up by the track burial, connecting the Sant Feliu I Consell Comarcal station with the city center. The infrastructure will include three new stops: Sant Feliu Centre, La Salut I Can Maginàs, and Sànson I Palau de la Justícia. This expansion will also improve public transport connections to the Escola Arquitecte Gaudí.
In the educational sphere, both executives are working to increase vocational training course offerings. Borrell noted: "We are the only city in the region offering Hospitality and Food FP, and we need others; we are working towards a significant change."
Subsequently, Borrell and Romero visited the facilities of the company Almirall.
