The Mayor of Sant Just Desvern, Joan Basagañas, confirmed that the Ateneu renovation works will begin this February, aiming to restore the town's most iconic cultural venue.

The Ateneu project, which will feature a versatile hall for 500 spectators, faced delays due to foundation issues. The local government has prioritized preserving the original theater's essence, despite higher costs. Construction is expected to take between 14 and 18 months.

"The agrolivestock center has suffered a setback due to a TSJC ruling."

The mayor also addressed the lack of nightlife, stating the City Council is actively looking for private operators to open venues in industrial areas. Furthermore, the town will implement the La Bressola model in local nurseries to encourage the social use of the Catalan language among children.
