The Sant Vicenç dels Horts City Council presented a new Low Emission Zone (ZBE) project this Thursday, featuring a three-year moratorium on fines for local residents to improve air quality.

The ZBE is scheduled to launch on September 1, 2026, but the sanctioning regime will not be enforced until January 1, 2027. This period is designed to allow citizens to adapt to the new mobility restrictions through extensive information campaigns and a local vehicle census.
The municipal session also addressed the recovery of a public property on Nou Street. The apartment, intended for families in housing emergencies, is currently occupied, preventing Social Services from using its three bedrooms for those in need.
Additionally, the council discussed motions regarding public education and food sovereignty. Local group Fem Sant Vicenç has requested the Generalitat to conduct a study on pollution levels caused by the main transit roads within the municipality.
