Hundreds of teachers blocked road access in Abrera and other locations across Catalonia this Friday, marking the start of a historic day of protests set to end at the Parliament.

Traffic in the Baix Llobregat region has been severely disrupted since early morning. Protesters halted vehicles on the A-2 highway between Abrera and Esparreguera, as well as on the C-55 road near Abrera.

"Resources are what they are, and the executive is conditioned by spending rules."

Economy Minister Alícia Romero defended the agreement signed with CCOO and UGT unions, noting that the 510 million euro investment in education represents the current fiscal limit of the administration.
