A group of approximately 200 teachers disrupted traffic on the B-23 in Sant Joan Despí on Wednesday morning, as part of the second day of the education sector strike.

The protest, which began shortly after 7 AM and lasted until almost 8:30 AM, is part of the territorial strike day affecting education professionals in Baix Llobregat and Penedès today.
The demonstrators initially gathered in front of TV3 facilities before occupying the B-23, first in the direction of Barcelona and then in the opposite direction. They are scheduled to continue their actions in front of the Territorial Education Services in Baix Llobregat, from where they will begin a demonstration at noon.
This mobilization follows the general strike called for Tuesday across Catalonia, promoted by the unions USTEC-STEs, Professors de Secundària (ASPEPC-sps), CGT, and Intersindical. The inaugural day culminated in a massive demonstration in the city center.

"It is a proposal that could be put on the table to see if the collective considers it acceptable, because with this we reverse a situation of salary injustice."

the USTEC spokesperson
The USTEC spokesperson indicated that a salary increase of between 400 and 500 euros per month could be a starting point for negotiating an end to the protests, considering it a measure to reverse the situation of salary injustice they are denouncing.
