The coach from Gavà, Xavi Pascual, has officially informed FC Barcelona of his intention to terminate his contract at the end of the 2025-2026 season, thus concluding his second tenure on the Blaugrana basketball bench.

The news, already a widespread rumor in sports circles, was confirmed today. Xavi Pascual, who returned to coach Barça's basketball first team on November 17, 2025, has exercised the termination clause in his contract, which bound him to the club until 2028. His departure will take effect once the current campaign concludes.
The club issued a statement thanking Pascual for his work during these months. "All parties are now focused on the common goal of finishing the season with the ACB League title," the note highlights, also wishing him "good luck in the future."
This season, Barça basketball has already been eliminated from the Copa del Rey, losing in the semi-finals, and failed to reach the EuroLeague playoffs, leaving the ACB League as the only possible title to win.
For more details on his departure and the future of the coaching position, the club has called a press conference with the coach this Thursday at 11:30 AM at the Palau Blaugrana.
