The works are part of the public space renovation plan promoted by the council and are estimated to last five months. The main goal is to increase the safety, visibility, and quality of pedestrian routes, promoting more accessible mobility.
The tasks include replacing the sidewalks, which showed significant wear of the natural stone, and installing a new public lighting system based on energy efficiency criteria.
The Councillor for Urban Services and Public Roads, Elisabeth Plaza, explained that the renovation of the sidewalks was necessary due to the deterioration caused by time.
“"We will continue with the commitment to transform Martorell through the continuous improvement of neighborhoods, adapting them to new needs."
Plaza also emphasized that the lighting improvement will allow the incorporation of presence detection systems at pedestrian crossings, a key element to increase safety and visibility in this area of Martorell.
