The festival presents sixteen films from seven countries (Algeria, Iran, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Western Sahara, and Tunisia) offering a plural perspective on territories marked by the consequences of colonization, occupations, and ongoing conflicts. The selection combines fiction and documentary to explore realities often distant from commercial circuits, such as life in Sahrawi refugee camps or the occupation of the West Bank.
The works aim to give voice to individuals and communities who resist, preserve memory, and assert their right to tell their own stories. For twenty editions, La Mostra de CineBaix has worked to highlight cinematographies and narratives often excluded from mainstream distribution, combining social and political cinema with debate spaces.
This edition is the first dedicated to the Mediterranean and Levant to be held at the Xavier Bachs Hall, recently inaugurated in memory of its former president and key figure, Bachs. He was instrumental in the citizen mobilization that led to the recovery of the old Cinema Guinart and the launch of an associative and self-managed cinema project in 2005, which has become a cultural benchmark in Baix Llobregat.
Organized by CineBaix, an associative and self-managed cinema in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, La Mostra is a non-profit cultural project that champions cinema as a tool for critical thinking and social transformation.
