Newsweek magazine has published its international ranking World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2027, in which Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona has achieved the 146th position. This classification places the center among the top 150 pediatric hospitals worldwide and represents an improvement of 27 positions compared to the previous edition. This result consolidates an upward trend and reflects the professionals' commitment to excellent pediatric care, as well as a strong focus on innovation and research.
In addition to the advancement in the global Pediatrics ranking, the Hospital has received a notable distinction in pediatric Oncology for the fourth consecutive year. It has also obtained, for the second time, two PROMs (Patient Reported Outcome Measures) recognitions, a key indicator in evaluating healthcare centers for their ability to incorporate patient experience.
The World’s Best Specialized Hospitals ranking is compiled annually by Newsweek in collaboration with Statista. This international reference list identifies the top 250 hospitals globally across various medical specialties. The evaluation is based on recommendations from international healthcare professionals, quality accreditations and certifications, and the implementation of PROMs, which capture the assessment of care from the perspective of the patient and their family.
