The Ministry for Ecological Transition will invest 1.4 million euros in Calafell and Illa de Buda to repair structural damage caused by Storm Harry along the Tarragona coast.

The emergency works, approved on March 2, 2026, will focus on fixing damages at Mas Mel beach and the Sant Jaume d'Enveja wetlands. The intervention aims to restore natural coastal defenses against erosion.

"We are satisfied with the continuous work carried out by the technical services to recover and maintain our coastline."

Elisabet Romero · Government Sub-delegate in Tarragona
In Calafell, works will begin in April, involving the redistribution of 5,000 cubic meters of sand from Coma-ruga port. The goal is to recover the dry beach area and protect the promenade wall.
