The Catalan Government has approved a 51 million euro investment to expand El Vendrell Hospital and build a new health center in L'Arboç, boosting healthcare in Baix Penedès.

The El Vendrell Hospital expansion project will receive 45 million euros through 2030. Managed by the Fundació Hospital de Sant Pau i Santa Tecla, the construction of the main structure has been awarded to UTE Constructora del Cardoner SA and Excavaciones Che, with completion expected by summer 2026.
The facility will grow by 13,000 square meters, adding 19 outpatient clinics, 19 ER boxes, and two multipurpose operating rooms. The project also includes 40 new hospital beds and 36 intermediate care beds to meet the growing demographic demands of the region.
In L'Arboç, the new Primary Care Center (CAP) is under construction with a 5.9 million euro budget. Located on Rei Pere I Avenue, the 2,000-square-meter facility will feature 27 consultation rooms and is scheduled to open by the end of 2026.
