A multi-vehicle accident involving three cars caused traffic jams on the C-32 in Calafell this Wednesday afternoon, forcing the closure of one lane towards Barcelona in the La Granja tunnel.

The collision occurred inside the La Granja tunnel, at kilometer 8.1 of the C-32, known as the Pau Casals highway, heading towards Barcelona. The incident, which took place in the municipality of Calafell (Baix Penedès), involved three vehicles for reasons that are still under investigation.
Patrols from the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police), units from the Bombers de la Generalitat (Firefighters), and ambulances from the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) (Emergency Medical System) were dispatched to the scene to assist those involved. According to the Servei Català de Trànsit (Catalan Traffic Service), the injuries are minor.
The accident forced the closure of one of the two lanes on the highway for nearly two hours, from the time of the alert at 6:17 PM until its reopening around 8:00 PM. This resulted in traffic jams of approximately three kilometers in the direction of Barcelona.
