Commuters in Baix Penedès have reached their limit due to constant deficiencies at train stations, including closed restrooms at Cunit and non-functional elevators at L'Arboç, adding to the general railway chaos affecting the region.

Beyond the constant delays and incidents affecting the R2 Sur line, travelers point out the lack of basic amenities. At the Cunit station, the only restroom remains closed since the concession for the bar it was linked to ended. Renfe explained that the maintenance and control of the restrooms depend on the bar's activity, and the goal is to put the bar's exploitation out to tender 'shortly'.
Regarding the R4 line, the new station module in El Vendrell, intended to replace the old ticket office, appears finished but is not yet operational. This new space, which will improve passenger flow with turnstiles and information panels, is currently undergoing electrical and functionality tests, expected to be operational during the first quarter of the year.
Another notable case is the L'Arboç station, where the elevators have been stopped for over a year, failing to become operational even after a major renovation of the platforms and station. This situation severely impacts accessibility for many users.

"Once the works in the Roda de Berà tunnel were solved, action should be taken at the Sant Vicenç de Calders station to provide the comfort and service required by this strategic stop for the region and for Catalonia."

Kenneth Martínez · Mayor of El Vendrell
These deficiencies are compounded by the slow implementation of park&ride parking areas designated by the Generalitat for the region. These points are crucial for facilitating train transfers and avoiding traffic congestion entering Barcelona, a daily commute for thousands of Baix Penedès residents.
