Santa Margarida i els Monjos, in Alt Penedès, and Bellvei, el Montmell, and Masllorenç, in Baix Penedès, are the new towns included in this declaration. These locations join the 18 municipalities already on the list for the region, with none having been removed.
The declaration of tense residential market zones (ZMRT) has been extended for one year across Catalonia, affecting a total of 302 municipalities. Of these, 118 were previously included, and 53 are new additions. Conversely, 22 municipalities have improved their situation and are now excluded from the list.
The total number of people living in these tense zones in Catalonia has decreased from 7 million to 6.1 million. The 118 localities that remain within the ZMRT are home to nearly 6 million people, while the 53 new municipalities have a combined population of approximately 255,000.
The Girona region incorporates the most new localities (16), followed by Central Catalonia (9), Camp de Tarragona (7), Barcelona and Penedès (with 6 each), Alt Pirineu i Aran and Lleida (4), and Terres de l'Ebre (1).
