The Mayor of Cunit, Jaume Casañes, and the Mayor of La Granja d'Escarp, Manel Solé, have announced the first assembly of the movement against Barcelunya for April 13.

The meeting will take place at the Hotel Bayona in La Panadella, a historic crossroads in Catalonia. The movement, titled Beyond Barcelunya, seeks to challenge the dominance of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area over the rest of the territory.

"Catalonia cannot continue to be split into two realities, with one dynamic set by the metropolis and another by the rest of the country."

The organizers are calling on all elected officials to join, regardless of their political party. They aim to promote a decentralized model that addresses issues such as poor infrastructure and the lack of fiber optic cables in rural and inland municipalities.
