The alert to emergency services was received shortly after 14:00. Six units from the Bombers de la Generalitat and seven ambulances from the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) were dispatched to the scene to assist those affected.
Of the seventeen injured, four are in serious condition and have been transferred to hospitals, including the Hospital del Vendrell. The rest of the people treated have minor injuries.
Although a confinement alert for the population was initially considered, the measure was ruled out after confirming that the toxic cloud had not spread outside the pool area. The City Council has recommended, as a preventive measure, closing doors and windows and avoiding the area during the hours following the incident.
