The Mayor of El Vendrell, Kenneth Martínez, has announced a strategic shift in the town's urban development, focusing on internal density rather than coastal expansion.

The El Vendrell Town Council is finalizing the preliminary draft of a new Urban Master Plan (POUM). This new framework aims to protect the pla de mar, a valuable agricultural area of vineyards located between the town center and the Mediterranean sea.

"We have saved the coastal plain; now we must grow inwards and consolidate our urban center."

Regarding social infrastructure, the local government will invest in a full renovation of the municipal nursing home, built in the late 1980s, to update its facilities before considering the creation of additional beds.
