The Department of Territory, Housing, and Ecological Transition has given its approval to the construction project and the list of affected properties for the new road infrastructure. The aim is to improve safety and traffic flow at a point considered problematic and prone to accidents.
The budget allocated for the construction of the roundabout amounts to 1,719,132.29 euros, divided into two lots. The technical project defines the works to resolve the intersection between the C-31 and the C-246a, integrating the development with the existing road and urban system in Calafell.
This action responds to a long-standing demand from the locality. The Mayor of Calafell, Ramon Ferré, stated that the project was "highly anticipated by everyone" and that, after many years of requests, the technical solution's viability has finally been demonstrated.
The notice published on July 23, 2026, sets September 16 as the date for drafting the preliminary acts for the occupation of the expropriated properties. Holders of affected assets and rights have been summoned to the offices of the Calafell town hall.
