The flames affected approximately 100 meters of reeds and brush in an area near the train tracks, Jaume Carner avenue, and the greenway connecting the historic center with the beaches.
The fire started at 3:30 AM for unknown reasons, although given the time, arson is not ruled out. The dry vegetation facilitated the rapid spread of the flames.
A team of firefighters was dispatched to the scene and worked for an hour and a quarter on extinguishing efforts.
