The decision to keep the facility closed has been made due to the need for the managing company to submit all required documentation to the City Council. This documentation must certify that the necessary measures have been taken to ensure a reopening under full safety conditions.
According to a statement from the acting mayor, Judith Vidal, a technical and documentary verification process has begun. Although initial water checks complied with regulations, the company has not yet provided a detailed report on the events, the causes of the incident, or a review of safety procedures and chemical elements.
The City Council considers it essential to have this information in writing before authorizing the reopening, both to technically verify safety and to restore user confidence. The managing company has been requested to submit, within a maximum of 48 hours, a detailed report, maintenance records, work protocols, identification of involved personnel, and corrective measures.
In parallel, reports have been requested from the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police) and the Bombers de la Generalitat (Firefighters) to complete the technical assessment. The reopening will only occur once the City Council has all the documentation and the pertinent checks have been carried out.
Vidal has regretted the inconvenience caused to users, expressing gratitude for their understanding, and has assured that public safety will guide all decisions. It is expected that the company will provide the required documentation as soon as possible to allow for a safe reopening.
