The Ministry for Ecological Transition (MITECO) has allocated 1.4 million euros to repair coastal damage caused by Storm Harry in Calafell and the Illa de Buda.

In Calafell, the project focuses on Mas Mel beach, where the storm eroded the sand and threatened the promenade's wall. Starting in April, 5,000 cubic meters of sand from Coma-ruga port will be used to restore the beach's natural profile.
A larger intervention is planned for Illa de Buda in the Ebro Delta. Approximately 20,000 cubic meters of sand will be transported from Cap Salou to rebuild the coastal barrier. This six-month project is essential to protect the Natura 2000 wetland from seawater intrusion.
