The comprehensive renovation works of the historic center of Llorenç del Penedès began this week, with a budget of one million euros, of which 75% will be financed by grants.

The urban development project, one of the most significant in recent years for the municipality, includes the integral renovation of Francesc Macià street, Immaculada square, and Castell square, as well as sections of Pompeu Fabra street and Major street.
The objective is to modernize infrastructure and basic services, such as the rainwater collection system, sewage, and public lighting, as well as to improve the urban image by burying cables.
One of the notable actions will be the creation of a new, larger Castell square, planned for early 2027, which will free up space by demolishing two buildings.
The city council will inform residents about the progress of the works and mobility impacts to minimize inconvenience.
