The Lleida Provincial Council has published two new grant calls, with a budget of €500,000, aimed at fostering the creation of multi-service shops and the opening or improvement of farm stores in the province's rural municipalities.

The grants, published in the Official Provincial Gazette (BOP) on October 21st, seek to strengthen commercial activity and proximity services, as well as promote the direct marketing of local agri-food products. The objective is to facilitate access to basic services, support commercial initiatives linked to the agricultural sector, and maintain economic activity in municipalities with smaller populations and limited commercial offerings.
The first call, endowed with €300,000, focuses on the creation of multi-service shops. Municipal councils and decentralized municipal entities in municipalities considered rural will be eligible to apply. These publicly owned establishments must offer commercial activities or services with a minimum opening hours of 20 hours per week, potentially including grocery stores, bars, restaurants, non-food shops, collection points, or personal care and community activities. Grants will cover up to 90% of the cost, with a maximum of €25,000 per beneficiary, prioritizing small municipalities with limited commercial options.
The second line, with €200,000, is dedicated to the creation or improvement of farm stores. Eligible applicants include agricultural cooperatives, agricultural transformation societies (SAT), and agricultural producers registered in the relevant official registries. These grants aim to boost direct sales channels for local agri-food products and strengthen primary sector-linked retail points. Subsidies can finance up to 50% of the cost, with a maximum of €20,000 per beneficiary, giving special consideration to projects in smaller municipalities and those with applicant's own investment.
The deadline for submitting applications for both calls is 20 calendar days from the day after publication in the BOP, meaning from October 22nd to November 10th, 2026. The subsidized actions can be carried out between January 1st, 2026, and September 30th, 2027.
