During the meetings with the mayors, key issues such as mobility, decarbonization, and actions to improve the ecological state and hydraulic capacity of riverbeds were discussed.
Regarding mobility infrastructure, the Department is working on the informative study for the bypass of the TP-2124 in Banyeres del Penedès and has initiated the drafting of the informative study for the bypass of Llorenç del Penedès (from the TP-2125 to the TP-2124). These actions, with an estimated investment of over 11 million euros, aim to resolve mobility issues on roads with high traffic, including heavy vehicles, and will allow for the recovery of urban space for pedestrians and commerce.
In parallel, in Banyeres del Penedès, the project for a new roundabout and complementary works on the TP-2125 is being drafted to improve access to the El Poet sector and road safety. Work is also underway on defining the construction project for improving accessibility to the AP-7 and AP-2 in Baix Penedès.
In Alt Penedès, the Department is promoting the project to create a cycle path between Pacs del Penedès and Vilafranca del Penedès, with the construction project expected to be drafted by the first quarter of 2027. In Pacs del Penedès, the minister also offered the support of the Catalan Water Agency (ACA) for the cleaning of the Llitrà stream, with planned actions costing 38,000 euros.
Finally, interest was shown in a municipal project to decarbonize all activities in Pacs del Penedès, in collaboration with the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, which could make the municipality the first 100% decarbonized in Catalonia.
