The Badalona City Council decided to stop the removal of plants on La Lluna street in the La Plana neighborhood this Friday, following controversy sparked by a prior Urban Guard notice.

A few days ago, Urban Guard agents posted notices on La Lluna street, in the La Plana area, indicating that the plants had to be removed before Monday, February 2. The notice warned of possible sanctions and affected both plants on the public road and those located on the terrace of Toni Tapia's bar.
However, on Friday afternoon, the Badalona City Council announced that, for the time being, the removal would not proceed. The decision comes after intense controversy generated among residents and on the social networks of Tot Badalona.
The origin of the conflict lies in the complaint filed by a neighbor who alleges that the plants hinder access to their home parking space. Given this situation, the council has offered to act as a mediator between the complainant and the rest of the neighbors, who defend the plants as an element of coexistence and improvement of public space.
The case has opened a debate on whether similar actions could be repeated in other streets in central Badalona where the presence of potted plants is also common. For now, the removal remains suspended pending municipal mediation offering a consensual solution.
