The Badalona City Council has opened pre-registration for the 32nd edition of the 'Mercat del Trasto', which will be held on November 22nd at Parc de les Muntanyetes. The event, dedicated to reuse and circular economy, will focus on items suitable for Christmas gifts and will maintain its solidarity component with food collection.

Interested individuals wishing to participate as stallholders can complete their pre-registration starting at 8:30 AM on Friday, October 30th, via the Badalona City Council website or in person at the Environment Area. Places will be allocated on a strict first-come, first-served basis, with preference given to Badalona residents, and registration will close on November 8th.
This edition of the 'Mercat del Trasto' will prioritize items in very good condition intended for Christmas gifts, such as toys, home decoration items, and children's articles. Clothing sales will be highly restricted, only allowing clothing for babies and children aged 0 to 10 years. The aim is to promote reuse, extend the lifespan of objects, and prevent them from becoming waste, as part of the European Week for Waste Reduction.
As in previous editions, stallholders will be required to contribute a minimum of three kilograms of packaged food for the Badalona Food Bank. There will also be a collection point open to the general public for donations.
The 4th Deputy Mayor and Councilor for the Environment, Sònia Egea, highlighted that the 'Mercat del Trasto' has established itself as a benchmark activity for reuse and circular economy, contributing to waste reduction and promoting more sustainable consumption.
Additionally, this year will feature the 'Espai d’Aigua Sostenible' (Sustainable Water Space), an initiative in collaboration with Aigües de Barcelona, aimed at children aged 3 to 12 to raise awareness about the water cycle and its responsible use. Non-profit organizations will also collaborate to manage and revalue unsold items.
