The giants Jeroni and Badamar from Badalona are celebrating their 80th anniversary with a walk from the Jardins de Ca l'Amigó to the monastery of Sant Jeroni de la Murtra on October 4, 2026.

To mark the 80th anniversary of their arrival in Badalona, the giants Jeroni and Badamar will undertake a walk to the monastery of Sant Jeroni de la Murtra. These giants, originally from 1946 and commissioned to the workshop “El Ingenio”, were recovered and recreated in 1996 by the workshop “El Drac Petit” from Terrassa, based on old photographs and molds, by the Colla de Geganters de Badalona.
The walk will begin at the Jardins de Ca l'Amigó at 9:30 AM. The arrival at Sant Jeroni de la Murtra is scheduled for 12:30 PM, where the giants will be welcomed by Father Jaume Aymar and participate in the mass. Following the religious ceremony, there will be a giant dance and a popular lunch.
The giants were named Jeroni, in honor of Sant Jeroni de la Murtra, and Badamar, a combination of the names Badalona and the sea ('mar'). Their recovery in 1996 was made possible by the efforts of the Colla de Geganters, after nearly 25 years of inactivity.
