Pakistani national Hamza Waris has accepted the conviction for terrorist damages at the Màgic shopping center burger joint in Badalona, agreeing with the prosecution to immediate expulsion from Spanish territory for a decade.

The Audiencia Nacional (National Court) has validated the plea agreement between the defense and the prosecution, convicting Hamza Waris, 29, a native of Pakistan, for terrorist damage and jihadist self-indoctrination. The accused accepted a sentence of 3 years and 8 months in prison, along with a fine of 3,604 euros and absolute disqualification.
The key point of the agreement is the substitution of the remaining prison sentence for immediate expulsion from the state territory. This measure includes a prohibition from returning to Spain for 10 years. Should Waris return earlier, he would have to serve the full prison sentence.

"At the time of the arrest, I told an officer that I had seen on Facebook that Palestinian children had died at the hands of Israelis and how the Americans supported them. That's why I went to destroy the McDonald's, because it's American."
