The competition, organized by Enregata and Club Nàutic Altamar with the support of Marina Badalona, concludes the cruiser racing season and is considered a major event on the calendar. The mayor of Badalona, Xavier Garcia Albiol, highlighted the event as a "magnificent opportunity to champion Badalona's relationship with the sea" and reaffirm the coastline as an excellent space for sports and major competitions.
The regatta will commence on Friday, October 30th, with an offshore race covering 60 nautical miles, starting and finishing at the port's waterfront. On Saturday, October 31st, the inshore fleet will compete in two windward-leeward races off the Badalona coast. On Sunday, November 1st, both fleets will unite for a final coastal race of approximately 20 nautical miles between Badalona and Barcelona, brilliantly concluding the event.
The Golden Cup Badalona will be a scoring event for both the Ausmar Regatta Circuit and the Catalan Championship for Offshore, Solitary, and Two-Handed races. Two independent classifications will be established: a combined one for the overall winner and another for boats participating in the windward-leeward races and the coastal race.
In line with its commitment to fostering increasingly inclusive sailing, the organization will maintain the Salina category for boats with at least 50% female crew. Furthermore, as a key novelty this edition, it introduces the new Youth category, aimed at crews with at least one sailor under 25 years old, thereby strengthening the participation of new generations in the competition.
