This edition will span 7,000 m² and host over 100 breweries, offering nearly 500 different beers from around the world. A key highlight is the clear commitment to beer and food pairing, featuring prominent culinary initiatives.
The festival serves as a showcase for global trends and an opportunity to discover leading international craft breweries. These include the Peruvian 7 Vidas, presenting eight award-winning beers with Marco Málaga, and the British project Queer Brewing, which will combine its creations with LGTBIQ+ visibility activities.
“"The presence of Pierre Gobron, co-founder of the iconic Belgian beer La Chouffe, a master of a beer culture that was declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity 10 years ago, will attract all eyes."
The European scene will play a prominent role with a delegation of creative breweries from Italy and the celebration of Dougall's 20th anniversary, the Cantabrian brewery offering traditional cask ale service. Furthermore, the festival will host a cross-border project connecting brewers from Catalonia and France, and a dedicated space for Euskadi Basque Country, promoted by Basque Beer, featuring guided tastings.
Gastronomy will be a fundamental pillar with proposals such as the ephemeral restaurant Maridatge 6x6, organized by Girona Excel·lent and led by Jordi Àvila and Pep Nogué. This space will allow guests to sample six small dishes paired with six beers from Girona producers, including an Escala anchovy Gilda with Dolmen beer, and a Girona Xuixo with Kremat beer.
One of the most anticipated moments will be the Barcelona Beer Challenge gala, celebrating its eleventh edition on April 10 at 6:30 PM. This year, 867 beers from 139 breweries across 14 countries are competing for awards, solidifying the competition as a benchmark for the visibility and quality of small and medium-sized breweries.
