These restrictions, which require drivers to reduce speed for safety reasons, collectively affect about 110 kilometers of track. The internal document, updated every Monday, details the incidents, some of which have reportedly gone unrepaired for up to ten years, according to specialized sources.
The most affected Regional line is the R15, with 39 limitations. Sixteen of these are concentrated between Riba-roja d'Ebre and Reus, a single-track section where trains must run between 30 km/h and 70 km/h. The southern corridor generally suffers the most from these restrictions.
There are sections that have been on the list for ten years because repairs are not carried out.
The R4 line, connecting Sant Vicenç de Calders and Manresa, is the second most affected, with 28 restrictions. In the Girona regions, the R11 line (Portbou - Barcelona Sants) has nineteen limitations, fourteen of which are located between Portbou and Maçanet-Massanes.
The primary reason for these limitations is the state of the track (25.2% of cases), followed by the condition of the switch mechanism or points (14%). By province, Barcelona accumulates the most restrictions (73), followed by Tarragona (51), Girona (25), and Lleida (6). Adif declined to comment on the document, citing its internal nature.
