The Civil Guard has requested public cooperation to identify the alleged perpetrator of the violent death of Magdalena Mas Vilaltella, whose remains were found in Olesa de Montserrat in 2005.

The Civil Guard has released an image of a man captured by a surveillance camera while using the woman's bank card at an ATM in Terrassa (Barcelona). A photograph of the victim while alive and a shirt fragment related to the investigation have also been published.
The remains of the 38-year-old woman were located on August 6, 2005, in the area of Sant Pere Sacama, within the municipality of Olesa de Montserrat. Her disappearance had been reported in April of the same year.

Citizen collaboration is crucial to solving this case, which has kept the investigation open for nearly two decades.

Forensic analysis determined that the victim had a fracture in the left cheekbone, consistent with a blow from a blunt object, and an orifice in the right shoulder blade, possibly caused by a projectile.
The identity of the victim, Magdalena Mas Vilaltella, a resident of Riudoms (Tarragona), could not be determined until 2014, thanks to the development of the Fénix genetic identification program for missing persons.
