Clínic-IDIBAPS has had a significant presence at the annual congress of the Spanish Society of Hematology and Hemotherapy (SEHH) and the Spanish Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis (SETH), held in Bilbao, where Dr. Armando López-Guillermo has been appointed president of the SEHH.

The congress, which brought together numerous Clínic professionals, underscored the institution's importance in the field of hematology. Dr. Álvaro Urbano-Ispizua delivered the keynote lecture, titled "Project ARI and Academic CAR-T: A Story of Science, Solidarity, and Hope," reviewing the trajectory of CAR-T therapies developed at the center and emphasizing the value of collective effort and humanism in medical advancements.
Furthermore, two communications presented by resident physicians from the Clínic Barcelona Comprehensive Cancer Centre (4CB) were recognized as the best in their respective areas: lymphoproliferative syndromes and monoclonal gammapathies. Dr. Jonathan Rafael Moreno presented an analysis of patients with follicular lymphoma, and Dr. Carlos Jiménez-Mira shared results from a study on monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS).
The participation of the Clínic's Hematology Service was extensive, leading 17 communications and contributing to about thirty more. Professionals such as Dr. Marina Díaz Beyá discussed VEXAS syndrome, Dr. María Rozman the diagnosis of myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms, Dr. Marta Garrote advances in polycythemia vera and essential thrombocythemia, and Dr. Laura Rosiñol updates on response criteria in multiple myeloma.
Dr. Carlos Fernández de Larrea, head of the Clínic's Hematology Service, positively assessed the participation, highlighting the future of hematology thanks to new generations of professionals and the collective work of his team.
