The Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, announced his intention to travel to Palestine before the summer to present the District 11 cooperation project, during a reception for the artists of the Act X Palestine concert.

The District 11 project aims to strengthen solidarity ties between the Catalan capital and the territories affected by the Israeli military invasion. This trip was already scheduled for last summer, but the government of Benjamin Netanyahu prevented the mayor's access at the last minute, according to El Periódico.

"We celebrate the presence of voices that create and explain the world even in the most difficult circumstances."

The announcement was made during the institutional reception organized by the City Council for the participants of the Act X Palestine concert, which will be held this Thursday at the Palau Sant Jordi. The Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, and the Minister of Foreign Action of the Generalitat, Jaume Duch, who lamented the “severe humanitarian crisis,” attended the event.
Attendees included figures such as the Gazan music group Sol Band and the Palestinian poet Mohammad Bitari, along with members of the project's advisory committee. The solidarity concert will feature renowned artists such as Bad Gyal, Ana Tijoux, Fermín Muguruza (leader of Kortatu), the rapper Morad, Oques Grasses, and the former singer of Manel, Guillem Gisbert.
