Journalist Silvia Taulés revealed on the La 2 Cat program L’Altaveu the origins of Gerard Piqué's family fortune, emphasizing the influence of his entrepreneurial grandfather and his vast real estate holdings in Barcelona.

The former footballer Gerard Piqué comes from a wealthy family, with a lawyer and businessman father and a doctor mother, who is the assistant director of the prestigious Guttmann Institute in Barcelona. However, the foundation of his economic security dates back to his maternal grandfather, Amador Bernabéu, a former Barça director and founder of a “very powerful” international construction materials company from which he recently retired.

"I believe it has somewhat shaped Gerard Piqué's character. This self-confidence he has always had, I think deep down it is because he did not depend on football to get ahead."

According to the journalist, this economic security and the education received placed Piqué “always above” his teammates. Following his grandfather's retirement, Piqué's father has taken over the family business leadership. Meanwhile, Gerard Piqué has followed his entrepreneurial path, although not all his projects have been successful, such as his juice company.
His most profitable investment is real estate, as he owns buildings across Spain. Among his most notable properties are his triplex on Carrer Muntaner in Barcelona, the house he built in Bolvir (Cerdanya), and a residence on Avinguda Pearson in Barcelona valued at over 10 million euros. Recently, the house in Esplugues he shared with Shakira was sold to the young footballer Lamine Yamal for 11 million euros, consolidating a fortune considered “incalculable”.
