Teaching and labor staff in the education sector blocked several main roads in Barcelona and across Catalonia this Wednesday, February 11, to demand better working conditions.

Protests began at seven in the morning with significant blocks on the Ronda Litoral, near Vila Olímpica, and on Gran Via de Barcelona in the Campana area. Moments of tension were reported between protesters and the Mossos d'Esquadra police force during attempts to access the highway.
Beyond the Catalan capital, the mobilization affected other key locations. In the Maresme region, protesters blocked the C-32 in Mataró heading towards Barcelona. Simultaneously, in Alt Empordà, the N-II road was cut in Vilamalla in both directions.
According to the Servei Català de Trànsit, traffic was also disrupted on the C-58 in Sant Quirze del Vallès, the C-17 in Gurb, the C-37 in Valls, and the C-55 in Manresa. Unions are demanding higher wages, lower student-to-teacher ratios, and more resources for inclusive schools.
