The lucky number, valued at 200,000 euros per tenth, was sold in Terrassa, Mataró, Barcelona, Cornellà de Llobregat, el Prat de Llobregat, Rubí, Mollet del Vallès, Sant Pere de Ribes, Castelldefels, Sabadell, and Salou. The second prize, 45875 (75,000 euros per tenth), also partially landed in Barcelona, while the third prize missed Catalonia entirely.
Regarding spending, Catalonia invested 92.691 million euros in this edition of the draw, representing a decrease of 0.69% compared to the previous year. The average spending per inhabitant was 11.41 euros, a figure lower than the national average.
The State can collect up to 21.45 million euros from the El Niño Draw, provided that none of the first two prizes remain undistributed.
According to the Treasury technicians union (Gestha), the first prize must pay 32,000 euros in taxes, while the second will leave 7,000 euros in public coffers. Only the first and second prizes are taxed, as the third prize (25,000 euros) is below the 40,000 euro threshold established by law.
