The Employment Fair and the Commerce Fair open their doors this Wednesday, October 21st, at Hall 8 of the Montjuïc venue of Fira de Barcelona, aiming to connect talent with job opportunities and tackle the challenges of local commerce.

The first fair, featuring over 160 activities, aims to be a meeting point between companies and individuals seeking employment or new professional opportunities, bringing together over a hundred companies with more than a thousand real job offers. The Commerce Fair, in its inaugural edition, serves as a reference space for local businesses, addressing challenges such as digitalization, sales, generational succession, and talent acquisition through workshops, networking, and expert talks.
The event will feature prominent institutional visits. At 11:30 AM, the Deputy Mayor for Social Rights, Economic Promotion and Employment, Feminisms and Democratic Memory of Barcelona City Council, Raquel Gil, will visit the Employment Fair accompanied by the Secretary of Labour of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Paco Ramos, the CEO of Barcelona Activa, Lorenzo Di Pietro, the Director of the Fair, Eva Aramendía, and the CEO of Fira de Barcelona, Constantí Serrallonga, among other authorities.
Subsequently, at 1:00 PM, the Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, will visit the Commerce Fair. He will be accompanied by Deputy Mayor Raquel Gil, the Director General of Commerce of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Marta Angerri, and various representatives from institutions and entities linked to the commercial sector.
The Employment Fair has expanded in both space and content, offering professional guidance and skills development. The new Commerce Fair seeks to establish itself as a hub for local businesses, providing content and tools to face sector challenges, as part of Barcelona's role as European Capital of Local Commerce.
