The former Deputy Mayor for Barcelona en Comú, Laura Pérez, has been appointed manager of the new District 11 by the Jaume Collboni government, with an annual gross salary of 97,634 euros.

The appointment of Pérez, who was head of the area of Social Rights, Global Justice, Feminisms and LGTBI during the previous mandate under Ada Colau, is already listed on the municipal transparency page with exclusive dedication.
The former councilor, who was part of the Barcelona en Comú list in 2015 and 2019, announced in January 2023 that she would not run again. Her appointment as manager of District 11 was signed by Collboni on December 30, effective January 2.

Consulted press service sources have referred to Pérez as 'a true reference' for their political space.

The District 11 is a newly created international cooperation project, budgeted at 1.5 million euros, focused on aid to affected Palestinian cities. This initiative is inspired by a similar project that former mayor Pasqual Maragall activated in the 90s for the reconstruction of Sarajevo.
