The junction of Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes and Selva de Mar street, located in Sant Martí, was the most dangerous spot in Barcelona in 2025, recording 18 accidents involving injuries.

The confluence of Gran Via and Selva de Mar, particularly on the mountain side, has been identified as the most dangerous spot on Barcelona's road network. Residents, such as Eloy Ovejas, complain that the situation is a "constant for a long time" and a "very black spot" in the city.

"Crossing that traffic light is risking your life, because a mess forms there."

According to data from the Barcelona City Council, the intersection accumulated 18 accidents involving injuries during 2025. Residents point to poor signage for the left-turn lanes as the main cause, as many drivers who should turn continue straight, leading to collisions.
Ricardo López, a kiosk owner with a privileged view of the spot, claims to have seen "30 or 40 crashes" in one year, including a vehicle that flipped over. Another resident, Juan Pascual, corroborates the frequency: "From home I hear 'bam!', and again... It usually happens once a week."
The Barcelona City Council has not detailed specific measures, although it minimizes the severity of the 18 accidents compared to the 6,835 recorded across the city in 2025. The Amics de la Gran Via Association proposes the permanent presence of Guardia Urbana agents or the installation of a speed camera to regulate traffic.
