The 47-ton piece was built at the Barcelona factory of La Maquinista Terrestre y Marítima and returned to its original location last December, after six decades of service across various cities in Spain. Its restoration was carried out voluntarily by CCOO union workers at Alstom, aiming to preserve the city's industrial memory.
The diesel locomotive 10335 symbolizes the importance of the factory, founded in 1855 following the merger of Valentí Esparó i Cia with Barcelonesa de Tous i Ascacíbar. Originally located in Barceloneta, it moved to Sant Andreu in 1920.
The installation of the 10335 locomotive consolidates the park as a space for historical memory and industrial heritage in Barcelona.
After the factories closed in 1993, workers created the Fundació Museu Historicosocial de La Maquinista Terrestre i Marítima i Macosa (MTM i Macosa) in 2003 to disseminate the historical, cultural, and labor memory of these companies, which were characterized by their active participation in the fight for workers' rights.
