The Generalitat de Catalunya has agreed to purchase the RACC headquarters in Barcelona for 75.5 million euros, an operation that is part of the development of the future Clínic-UB Health Campus.

The property, located between Avinguda Diagonal, 687, and Carrer Albert Bastardas, 31-33, has a registered area of 36,699 m2. The purchase price will be paid in four annual installments without interest between 2027 and 2030, during which time the RACC will continue to use the facilities.
This acquisition represents a significant step forward for the Clínic-UB Health Campus project, a strategic initiative aiming to transform the southern entrance of Barcelona into an international benchmark for healthcare, research, and education. The project includes the construction of a new hospital, the Faculties of Medicine, Health Sciences, and Pharmacy and Food Sciences of the University of Barcelona, as well as other healthcare, university, and scientific facilities.
This operation follows the agreement approved last January between the Generalitat and the University of Barcelona to acquire properties at Avinguda Diagonal, 695-797, which currently house the UB's Sports Services. The UB is expected to retain possession of these properties until 2030, when construction is scheduled to begin.
Furthermore, the Consorci Porta Diagonal-Campus Clínic, comprising nine institutions, has approved the preliminary Urban Planning Master Plan (PDU). This preliminary document will define the main lines for organizing the territory that will host the project, affecting the municipalities of Barcelona, L'Hospitalet, and Esplugues, with the goal of creating a new metropolitan centrality focused on health, research, housing, and economic activity.
