Blessed carpet from Sagrada Familia's Cross inauguration to help fight childhood cancer

The carpet, on which blessed water fell during the ceremony presided over by Pope Leo XIV at the inauguration of the Cross of the Tower of Jesus of the Sagrada Familia, will have a second life: a charity auction to help children with cancer.

La moqueta beneïda durant la inauguració de la Creu de la Sagrada Família ajudarà a lluitar contra el càncer infantil

Una peça testimoni d’un moment històric que ara vol transformar-se en esperança per als infants amb càncer.

The carpet present during the inauguration of the Cross of the Tower of Jesus of the Sagrada Familia, on which blessed water fell during the ceremony presided over by Pope Leo XIV, will become a solidarity initiative against childhood cancer. The initiative is driven by DISSTANDS Moquetas, a pioneering company in Catalonia in the distribution and installation of ecological and 100% recyclable exhibition carpet, unique in the world in its category. In the coming days, the beneficiary foundation will be announced.

The carpet used during the inauguration of the Cross of the Tower of Jesus of the Sagrada Familia, on which blessed water fell during the ceremony presided over by Pope Leo XIV, will have a second life with a charitable purpose. Our intention is to turn it into a charity auction and donate 100% of the funds raised to the fight against childhood cancer.
I am Alex Martínez, CEO founder of DISSTANDS Moquetas, and I have dedicated over 30 years to the world of events. Throughout my career, I have been recognized for my leadership, innovation, and commitment to sustainability. Today, our company is a pioneer in Catalonia in the distribution and installation of ecological and 100% recyclable exhibition carpet, unique in the world in its category, embracing a more responsible and environmentally friendly model.
But, beyond my profession, I am a father. And as a father, I cannot imagine the pain a family must feel when they lose a child to an illness.
Throughout life, we have experienced the loss of family members; recently we said goodbye to a cousin, and last year we also lost a great friend. These experiences have made us understand that life presents us with moments when we have a moral obligation to help others.
I have always believed that we should all contribute when an opportunity arises. This is ours. We won't change the world with a single gesture, but we can contribute our small grain of sand to an immense challenge.
We are currently preparing this initiative and, within this week, we will announce the foundation or charitable organization that will receive the funds.
We are also working to define the most transparent and secure procedure for carrying out this charitable action, as we want the entire process to be conducted with the utmost guarantees and absolute transparency.
All information, updates, and project progress will be published on our official channels on Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok, so that anyone interested can follow this initiative and learn firsthand about the development of the charity auction.
If this initiative manages to give hope to even one child and their family, all the effort will have been worthwhile.
