The URC Dr. Pi i Molist, part of the Psychiatry Service at Sant Pau, commemorates World Mental Health Day with an artistic project and various awareness initiatives in the Ciutat Meridiana neighborhood.

In observance of World Mental Health Day on October 10th, the URC Dr. Pi i Molist, affiliated with the Psychiatry Service at Sant Pau, has organized a series of promotional and awareness activities. This year's campaigns are themed "Teixir vincles és fer salut mental" (Weaving bonds is making mental health) in Catalonia and "Haz match con tu Salud Mental" (Match your Mental Health) in Spain.
A key project is the creation of a community mural in the Ciutat Meridiana neighborhood, within the Nou Barris District. This initiative involves the URC Dr. Pi i Molist, the Zona Nord Civic Center, the Barcelona Public Health Agency (ASPB), the Nou Barris District, and La Kanalla Studio, responsible for graphic design and creative processes. The project will take place throughout October and November 2026.
The primary goal is for the mural to emerge from a participatory process, allowing individuals served by the URC, residents of Ciutat Meridiana, and users of the neighborhood's sociocultural facilities to contribute their perspectives on how art, culture, and community contribute to overall public well-being. The aim is to "create a visual narrative with a social and cultural perspective," explains Mireia Bover from La Kanalla Studio.
The resulting mural is intended to be a collective work reflecting the diverse voices and viewpoints of the participants, highlighting the importance of mental health care from a community-oriented, inclusive, and participatory standpoint. This project is funded by the Barcelona Public Health Agency (ASPB).
Throughout October, three participatory sessions led by "La Kanalla" will be held for the mural's design. The first session is scheduled for October 2nd at the URC Dr. Pi i Molist. Subsequently, on November 13th, the artistic creation session for the community mural will take place, which will be displayed at the Zona Nord Civic Center.
Additionally, from October 1st to November 6th, the Zona Nord Civic Center will host the painting exhibition "Jardins de Dins" (Gardens Within), presented by the Racó Artístic d'URC Dr. Pi i Molist group.
Finally, on October 26th, the URC Dr. Pi i Molist will organize a morning participatory session themed "Fes Match amb la teva salut mental" (Match your Mental Health), featuring dynamics, a talk, and the reading of a manifesto.
