The Board of the Autoritat del Transport Metropolità (ATM) agreed to maintain the 50% reduction on the most used passes, the T-Usual and the T-Jove, but this does not prevent the general 3.5% increase (equivalent to the CPI) on all tickets. The body, composed of the Generalitat, the Barcelona City Council, and the Barcelona Metropolitan Area, justifies this rise due to increasing operational costs.
The price increase aims to guarantee the quality and continuity of the service in a context of generalized increase in operational costs.
Among the most notable changes, the T-Usual (30-day pass) increases from 22 euros to 22.80 euros, while the T-Jove (for those under 30) rises from 44 euros to 45.50 euros. The single zone ticket also sees a significant increase, going from 2.65 euros to 2.90 euros.
Other tickets like the T-Casual (10 trips) increase from 12.55 euros to 13 euros, and the T-Dia, mainly used by tourists, goes from 11.55 euros to 12 euros. The T-Familiar and T-Grup passes are also adjusted upwards following the same percentage increase.
Regarding the transition, any ticket purchased before January 15 and not validated can be used until January 28. However, the T-Jove and T-70/90 will remain valid until April 30. Users can extend the validity of 2025 tickets until June 30 by paying the price difference through the T-Mobilitat service points or enabled applications.
