Nine columns of tractors, formed by farmers and ranchers, started marching from various points across Catalonia this Friday morning, heading towards Barcelona to stage a 24-hour stop in front of the Department of Agriculture.

Mobility on the main Catalan roads, including the AP-7, C-17, and C-16, is severely affected since early morning. The columns departed from key areas such as Bages, Berguedà, Osona, Girona, Tarragona, Móra d'Ebre, Amposta, Molins de Rei, and Granollers.
The final destination of the protest is the junction of Gran Via and Balmes street in Barcelona, where the headquarters of the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries is located. Farmers are expected to arrive around 12:30 PM and maintain the stoppage for 24 hours, adding to existing mobility issues on Rodalies trains and the AP-7 closure in Martorell.
According to Jorgi Aguilera, spokesperson for Revolta Pagesa, the mobilization pursues a triple objective: demanding the Generalitat materialize the commitments acquired in January, commemorating the second anniversary of the 2024 protests, and demonstrating the sector's strength once again.
Farmers denounce that the Government has failed to comply with the agreements reached a month ago, when the sector already mobilized due to the European Union agreement with Mercosur and the management of animal disease outbreaks such as nodular dermatosis and swine fever.

The Government must comply with its commitments
