The first incident occurred at 7:15 AM, stopping the service for five minutes, and a second failure around 8:00 AM interrupted rail traffic again. Although the cause is unknown, it is being investigated whether it is related to the double software incident that already affected the service on January 26.

Currently, lines R2 Nord, R2 Sud, R11, R16, and R17 provide full train service, but the remaining lines maintain sections covered by buses. Renfe assures that, despite the alterations, 70% of the usual demand is being met.
In parallel, the new director of Rodalies de Catalunya, Òscar Playà, has admitted that the service “must be clearly improved” and announced plans to apply the experience gained leading the Barcelona metro, prioritizing predictive maintenance and better user information.
These new failures come just two weeks after the Gelida accident, which triggered the rail crisis. Furthermore, Adif has requested the suppression of some high-speed trains between Madrid and Barcelona to carry out nocturnal maintenance work on the network.
