The Collserola Natural Park Consortium has reactivated its on-the-ground environmental informers campaign, running until December 13, 2026, with the aim of listening to citizens and collecting their concerns.

The citizen information and attention campaign has been rethought to engage with people in areas bordering both the urban environment and the park's natural setting. This on-the-ground service is reactivated after the campaign planned for spring was cancelled due to restrictions to control the African swine fever outbreak.
The initiative, coordinated by the Consortium, is part of a contract for information, environmental education, and volunteer promotion tasks in natural spaces, driven by the Department of Territory, Housing, and Ecological Transition of the Generalitat de Catalunya for the period 2024-2027.
From October 1 until December 13, 2026, the Natural Park once again has informers on the ground. Unlike previous campaigns, this year's focus will be primarily on actively listening to citizens in urban environments, gathering concerns about issues in these areas of the protected natural space.
To carry out this task, pairs of informers will use the form “Collserola t’escolta” (Collserola Listens). For specific incidents related to the Natural Park, the “Collserola Respon” (Collserola Responds) channel will be used, open since 2022 for managing incidents.
The focus will be on the management and restrictions related to controlling African swine fever, but it will also monitor public use in areas near residential neighborhoods and analyze citizen perception of issues arising from high frequency of use in these zones, promoting good practices for conservation.
The autumn 2026 initiative includes the addition of a third pair of informers who will serve on weekdays (Monday to Friday, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM), in addition to the two weekend pairs.
Information points and work areas have been modified to foster proximity with residents. The informers will be distributed across 16 entry zones to the Natural Park and high-traffic points around mountain neighborhoods, interior developments, and peripheral urban centers, including municipalities such as Barcelona, Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Esplugues de Llobregat, Molins de Rei, el Papiol, Sant Cugat del Vallès, and Cerdanyola del Vallès.
The work area has been adjusted to comply with African swine fever restrictions. Informers will avoid access to the natural environment and limit activities to areas where people are permitted access, such as near homes, facilities, economic activities, public transport stations, and paved areas.
