The Barcelona City Council has asked citizens to follow a series of tips and recommendations to minimize the risks associated with adverse weather conditions.
Among the recommendations for rain and storm situations, it is advised to check roofs, lightning rods, drains, and downspouts, and to remove any accumulated debris. It is also suggested to disconnect electrical appliances, remove outdoor furniture and objects that could be washed away by water, and store toxic products out of reach of water. It is recommended to keep useful items handy such as a charged mobile phone, essential medications, warm clothing, and personal documents. Additionally, pets should be brought indoors.
Regarding driving in the rain, it is advised to moderate speed, brake gently, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, do not drive through flooded areas, and stop if necessary.
